During my childhood it was such a great wish of mine to have a pet. But unfortunately I was never allowed. My mother, grandmother, neighbours, everyone at that time was telling me that they are „dirty, they will destroy the house, they will give me some illness, etc“ So I could never have a pet friend.
Once we came first time to Pakoštane to stay, we kind of demolished a big part of the house interior. We used to sleep for many nights without windows, or eat without a table. And at that time we got a regular visitor. That was Kisa. And Kisa didnt ask if she could stay, she just did. She was there all the time, not minding the noise of our tools, moving of the furniture, she just wanted to be with us. I was happy that I actually for the first time didnt have to ask anyones permission. She became my family. Kisa was and will always be a stray cat. This is something we all know and respect. You can still meet Kisa when you decide to come for a visit. She is actually the one who is probably be the first team member you will see once you arrive to our reception. She would love if you give her a gentle head rub, but only if you ask for a permission first. If you bring treats, you can pass the permission part, it is granted from now.
Why all this story? We uderstood the love and affection the animal can feel for us. It can be a cat, dog, chicken, any species. But once they love you, you are theirs for life. And they expect you to be there with them every day. As much time as possible. They might be asleep but they love feeling your presence. So we know why people find it very important to be able to travel and have their pet along. And why should we forbid that?! We might need to vaccum 5minutes extra? So what, we will be happy to do that if this is helping one animal not feel alone.
So please, feel free to visit us and bring along your furry friend!
