If your primary reason of visiting Croatia is not swimming at the sea, then travelling to our region during winter/spring time is definitely a good idea. I will explain.
The high season period starts from June and ends in September. This time brings a lot of tourists. It is terribly hard to find a place to stay, a place to eat or visit any national park. Everything seems to be so full of people that sometimes you don’t even get the chance to actually enjoy the scenery. This also means that because of such a huge increase of the demand, the prices you get for one night stay grow up to 100% comparing to the prices you get in winter!
Croatia has a wonderful coast and sea, but it is definitely not the only thing it offers. Our beautiful coastal cities and villages are equally or even more breathtaking. So getting a tour of our cities, national parks, islands is for sure an incredible experience.
Whats a good holiday without a great food? Many restaurants do close their door during winter season, especially after covid happened. But still there are much more of those who do stay open and welcome guests whole year. And the bonus is that in each of them you will probably always have a free table and no need for time consuming reservations.
Locals are very busy during summer season because Croatian people at the coast live mostly thanks to the tourism. So we do our best to keep the guests happy. In summer this is terribly hard because people keep coming and going and we are in such a huge rush. But in winter and spring they are much more relaxed and they can dedicate themselves more to you and all the guests personally. This is a great thing when you are welcomed in someones guest house, you can feel the warmth of the people who receive you.
Valentines Day is a perfect excuse to go for a short trip to the coast of Croatia, specially Pakoštane. To gift to someone memories is the best choice always. Getting a room with a great breakfast, explore one small city in a day, get back to your room and some sauna time followed by a delicious dinner and wine by the fire…sounds like a dream.
